I love movies. I love watching them, I love seeing them. I love reading about them, I love hearing about them, I love learning about them. All the better if they can be fun to sit through and enjoy.
There has been a lot of talk about how there has been so much talk about how there’s been so much talk about how the movie industry has been so big and so boring for so long that it has lost its way and has to start doing something about it.
That’s what I’m here to talk about today. I’m here to talk about movies. Movies are an art form that, in many ways, requires the complete and total attention of the viewer. We can watch a movie without paying much attention to the story, and we can read a book without paying much attention to the story, but we must focus on the book or the movie or the story in order to truly enjoy it.
Movies are what it is. They are something that we are made to watch. When we first watched a movie, it might have been the first movie we ever saw. Since then we have moved on to another movie, another book, another story line, another musical. What we need to do is to keep going, to keep watching, because we are made to be entertained.
The same is true for books. When we first read a book we have to keep going. No matter how old we get or how far into our careers we may have moved on to, we still need to keep reading because we are made to read. What you need to know is that your favorite book may not be yours for years to come. I don’t know how long you’ve been reading The Da Vinci Code, but I sure hope it will be for a long time.
Just as with books, I just can’t believe anyone actually reads these books now. There are so many people out there that are content to sit and read the same old thing for years on end. That really isn’t conducive to understanding the world.
One of the things that I have found that makes it so difficult to get into book reading is the stigma attached to reading. The idea that you have to read a book or pay a book store to get your mind off of your everyday life is still very prevalent today. People that have read a book a few years ago are very hesitant to read it again. They dont feel comfortable with the idea of revisiting an old favorite because they feel like they might have missed something.
Book clubs are one way to get your mind off of the stuff you love. For those of you who have read The Book Club by T.C. Boyle, you know that he has a very personal approach to writing. He writes with real passion and a lot of love. His style is also very different than what you’d find in a normal book. For example, he writes about the love of his life with a bit more depth than the average person.
You can find an entire collection of books covering the characters and the plot in The Book Club. It’s quite the visual pleasure you’re getting from reading them.
