The Boys are Back in Town by Thin Lizzy: The iconic opening lyrics of the song are “I’m just a poor boy, nobody loves me and my mum’s dead / I’ve got no money to buy food or clothes on the street.” This has an Irish rock feel that really does make you want to sing along. There is also a sense of dark humor here which makes it even better. You can find this track at Number 13 on our list – stay tuned next week for some great songs from 1992!
November Rain by Guns N’ Roses: November rain brings memories flooding back like the night they tried to break his heart. This song is from the album “Use Your Illusion II” and it was released in 1991. There are two versions of this, one with piano and one without piano – both hauntingly beautiful!
If there’s a Gun N’ Roses fan out there who hasn’t heard November Rain yet then they’re missing out on something special that should be played as loud as possible to get the full experience. Whatever your thoughts on Guns N’ Roses you cannot deny their iconic status within music history or the influence they have had in shaping rock songs for decades since their debut at the start of the 80s.
