I was just kidding about the professor part. He is a “phd student” not a “phd professor.” He is a person who has a Ph.D. in something, and, like all PhDs, is very, very smart.

A lot of Ph.D. students do very well though, and are often very successful at their degree programs. This is a good thing.
If you’re a Ph.D. student, your time is usually limited to the semester so it’s easier to spend that time with people. But you’re still a student, you still have the same goals as any other Ph.D. student, and you can get involved with other Ph.D. students. In that sense it’s much like a real job.
