If you have a pre-K child in elementary school, then it is time to start researching the supplies that they will need for this upcoming year. This list includes everything from notebooks and pencils to backpacks and lunch boxes. It’s important to get these supplies now before your child starts school so that they are well prepared when September rolls around. Here is our top 11 elementary school supply list!

Top 11 elementary school supply list!

Backpack: a backpack is important for an elementary schooler because it will be used to carry their books, lunch box, and anything else they need. You can buy any type of bag but we recommend buying one that’s sized correctly so your child isn’t carrying around a too big or too small pack.

Lunch Box: even though the cafeteria may provide them with food at lunch time, some children prefer bringing their own from home in order to have more control over what they are eating and how much sugar there is in the foods offered. Make sure you find one that has storage compartments for snacks if possible!

Notebooks And Pens/Pencils: note taking skills are something elementary students need to learn in order to be successful. We recommend buying at least three notebooks and two sets of pens, pencils or markers, whichever your child prefers.

Folder: a folder is necessary for elementary students because it will help keep their papers together without getting them mixed up with someone else’s work.

Protractor: this tool helps kids measure angles when they need to – you can find one in the math section of your local store!

Colored Pencils/Crayons: these are favorite tools among elementary schoolers because coloring books are a great way to calm down before bedtime as well as learn important skills like following directions and staying focused on just one task at a time (without any distractions). Plus, there are loads of educational coloring pages available online, which will help elementary schoolers with their studies.

Gym Clothes: it is important to make sure your child has the appropriate clothing for gym class so that they don’t need to worry about getting dressed or undressed and changing in a locker room full of people! We recommend buying sweatpants and t-shirts at least two weeks before the first day of classes – you’ll want them to be comfortable enough not just on days when there’s an activity like PE but also during normal classroom time as well.

Backpack: without one, your elementary student won’t have any place to store all their supplies throughout the day – plus backpacks are great because they’re hands free and they’re a good way for your elementary student to make sure they always have what they need with them.

Lunchbox: this is another great hands free product that will keep the food cold and safe from spills or other accidents throughout the day. Your elementary schooler can put their lunch inside, strap it on, and go!

Athletic Shoes: you might be worried about how much supply shopping you’ll have to do – but don’t worry we’ve got everything covered here too! Sneakers are a must for all kids before entering elementary school because they provide plenty of support for little feet while playing games like dodgeball in gym class, as well as being comfortable enough during classroom time when running around isn’t an issue.

Binder: the perfect way to keep all of your elementary schooler’s work together and organized, binders are a great purchase from their first day in school through graduation!

Backpack: another staple for any elementary student, backpacks will be used to carry everything they need throughout the day – even if it means having two different bags on hand at some point. A must have item for every elementary kid is this classic backpack that actually carries whatever you put inside!

Clothespins: clothespins can be found just about anywhere these days, but they’re especially helpful when hanging up posters or helping with crafts in the classroom. The best part? They come in bright colors too so no one has an excuse to not be able to find their clothespins!

Construction paper: elementary school kids will often use construction paper for art projects or creating bulletin boards in the classroom. This is a great addition if you’re looking to create engaging activities with your little one at home too.

Crayons: crayons are always an essential, they can even be used as a teaching tool when drawing lines on graph paper and counting how many colors are being used on top of each other ].

Coloring books and markers: coloring book pages make it easy for students and parents alike to work through various levels of difficulty together, while also allowing them to explore different mediums like pencils or watercolors that would otherwise have been inaccessible to a young child.

Glue sticks: these are essential for elementary school children who may be working on projects that require glue to seal the back of their work in addition to holding pieces together, such as handprints or clay creations.

Scissors: choose your favorite pair from among those with blunt tips and points, while also making sure that they’re comfortable enough for little hands to maneuver without frustration.

Lunchbox Supplies (lunch bags/plastic baggies): it’s always best to keep lunch supplies stocked up at home since kids can get picky about which kind of sandwich is served when they have access to so many options!
