When you have a clear vision, you can see what is in front of you and what needs to be done. You can also see how your approach will impact your project, how you approach it, and what outcomes you expect (or hope) for the project.
The biggest mistake a home movie maker can make is to start with that one big picture before they get to the details. If you can’t get it down in a couple of minutes, then the whole project falls apart. If you start with a great big idea, the more details you cram into that idea you make it bigger than it can possibly be. If you can’t see how your home movie will affect your project, then you’ve missed the boat.
