I have never been a fan of horror movies. There is something about the ghost that has always gotten to me. When a ghost appears in a movie, it is a little creepy and I want nothing to do with it. At the same time, I want nothing to do with a ghost that isn’t dead.
The recent appearance of Ghoster in The Conjuring 2 was one of the scariest things I have ever seen in a horror movie, that’s for sure. But there’s also something comforting about someone coming back from the dead that seems to have some sort of afterlife. There are lots of ways to go about getting that, and some ways are better than others. But one of the most comforting methods is by having a ghost reanimate an injured person.
The good news is that the Ghoster is not evil. He isn’t malicious, just misunderstood. And he’s not going to kill you anytime soon, which means you can kill him too. He’s just going to come back and haunt you. But just like you and the other ghost-killers in The Conjuring, you’ll have to find a way to deal with him while avoiding his powers.
It seems that, while Ghosts are scary and evil, we all have a bit of a problem with being ghosted. The Ghoster is something of a mixed blessing. He can send people away for a long time if they are not careful, but he can also give them the power to keep wandering around, which can be really annoying. The reason Ghosters are so prevalent is because they are the “real deal.” They are real.
The other problem with Ghosters is that they can also attack you. And that can be really annoying. For some reason, Ghosters are more common in rural North America, so we have to be creative about how to deal with them. One trick is to go in with a car and lock on to a spot where a ghoster is likely to attack with his ghostly powers. Unfortunately, that method works only if the ghoster is in your path.
The problem with most ghosters is that they are invisible. So you can’t just attack them while they are still out of sight. But a few of the more popular ones actually do have visible powers, so they can be handled in a similar fashion. But it’s not ideal, because it means you’re usually stuck with a ghoster at all times.
This actually has a bit of a catch. A ghoster can only be attacked while he is in sight, and it takes a bit of careful walking to walk in a circle so that his ghostly powers don’t get in the way. Not the perfect solution, but it works.
Ghosters are a fairly rare commodity these days. The few that still remain are usually in high demand and tend to be a bit overpowered. They are the only way to interact with the Visionaries, but they are no longer common because their powers are too potent. But they can be obtained and upgraded at any time with a rare upgradeable weapon. The only real requirement is for your own weapon to be able to interact with them.
The idea is that you will have a weapon that can interact with the Visionaries’ ghosts. That will allow you to summon them, take them out, and generally take care of them. That means you can have the powers of a ghoster, but without any of the weaknesses that make them vulnerable. In other words, they are a “true ghoster.” This is probably the best way to explain it to someone who’s never heard of them before.
Like a lot of other recent horror titles, there is a big emphasis on the idea of making some of the game’s monsters more powerful than normal monsters. When you kill a monster with a gun, it hurts them. When you kill a monster with a gun, it leaves a mark on their body. A ghoster, however, is the only weapon capable of harming or leaving marks on a monster.
