The Kanto region, the first of many regions you encounter on your journey through Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon is an area that changes a lot depending on which game version you play. You’ll find both new routes and familiar places from X & Y here! One place that’s changed between games is Route 13 – have fun exploring it all over again when playing the other game version! As for what Pokemon are found there…you’ll just have to wait until next time! For now we’re going back north into another route with lots of things worth encountering along the way: Routes 14, 15, and 16!

In the previous post we went over Route 13 – which is also found in both versions of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Moon. But as for what you’ll find there well, that would be telling now wouldn’t it? Instead let’s head north into another route with lots of things worth encountering along the way: Routes 14, 15, and 16! The first stop on this journey will be a lovely seaside location where many different kinds of Pokemon can be found: Akala Outskirts (Route 14)! You may want to pack a lunch before venturing out here because once you enter the area there are no more options for buying food until you return to the city.
In order to get Marshadow, you must first beat Akala Island’s Kahuna Olivia and her Trial from the beginning of Route 14. Once that is done, talk with Professor Kukui at his lab on Melemele Island again (he can be found in front of a building near your house). He will give you another nod towards Mount Lanakila where you’ll need to help Mallow – he has something important for you! You have two different options when it comes time to confront him: do so by scaling the mountain via Cable Car or go through Poni Grove (just like how we got here!) Either way, make sure before climbing up that you heal yourself using Moon Stones if you have any on your person.
TOP TIP: Remember to keep an eye out for the two Nanu berries that are on the way up; they will heal you when consumed! You’ll also want to be sure and save before coming here just in case something happens – this is a tough boss battle so it’s especially important not to rush into anything without thinking about how best to handle everything. Finally, make sure you have at least one Max Revive and plenty of Ultra Balls before taking him down (you should know by now what those do!).
When Mallow finally encounters you after being defeated, he hands over Marshadow as promised!. This Pokémon is part-Fighting type which makes it pretty strong against Psychic types like Alolan Exeggutor, which Mallow in particular is weak against due to its Ghost type.
Nanu Berry: “A berry that grows near water.”
Mawile (Pokémon): “This cunning Pokémon tears the enemy’s protective garments and bites them with a vicious bite!”
Max Revive: A medicine for reviving fainted Pokémon. It fully restores a single party member’s HP!
Ultra Ball: An item used for catching wild Pokémon by increasing your chances of success when thrown at them. Be careful – it can’t be used more than once every twenty minutes or so!. It has just been revealed on social media that Marshadow will now be available from January 27th onwards as part of a special promotion where you can receive one Marshadow in either Pokemon Sun or Moon by completing a special level of the Mallow Quest.
Fairy-type: “A type that has never existed before.”
Psychic-type: A Pokémon with strong psychic powers and weaker physical power than other types, which is also weak against Dark types like Alolan Exeggutor.
Alolan Exeggutor (Pokémon): “This Grass/Dragon type Pokémon will shoot beams at its enemies from both eyes!”
