Red Dead Redemption 2: What Territory Will I Travel Through?

The game’s map is a vast area, so we wanted to give you a sense of what each territory will look like. We’ll also go over the towns and other notable landmarks that you’ll encounter in the different areas.

The Heartlands: This is where Arthur Morgan was born and raised, so it’s his home turf. It’s relatively small, but there are some good hunting grounds for animals like deer or wild boar if you know where to find them (and don’t mind getting your hands dirty). The Heartlands has three major towns: Valentine, Paleto Bay, and Rhodes.

The Great Plains: This territory runs from north to south across the entire west side of the map and includes huge swathes of farmland, drowsy cow towns and a vast desert where the coyotes roam. In the north is Lemoyne, its capital city with an impressive cathedral; southwards lies Chumash village – it’s one of our favourite places to visit because you can meet all sorts of interesting people there.

New Hanover: The easternmost territory on the map includes dense forests full of wildlife and lumberjacks’ camps alongside rolling hills for cattle grazing or croplands irrigated by abundant waterfalls fed by fresh mountain streams (although they’re not going to be around forever if we keep turning up the heat). You’ll also find some lovely coastal villages.

West Elizabeth: Home to Blackwater town in east, which has grown rich from the railroad. West Elizabeth is also where you’ll find a little bit of everything, so if you’re looking for an antidote to boredom, this might be your place!

New Austin: In the heartland of America lies Nuevo Paraíso (Spanish for “New Paradise”), which is ruled by Mexico until it was annexed in 1881 – now there’s no escape unless they get their independence back soon. You can explore all manner of landscapes here, including plains and forests as well as mountains with mining camps; villages on fertile land near rivers or silver mines at its feet; cow towns and sleepy settlements far away from civilisation.

This is where you’ll find Armadillo, a small town named after the armadillos that live in its soil.

The Outback: This desert is so hot and dry that it’s uninhabitable to all but humans who have learned how to adapt. Luckily for them, there are plenty of water sources underground if they look hard enough. It spans from Great Plains territory up north until Mexico becomes an impassable obstacle southwards; this land also includes New Hanover which was founded by Dutch settlers on the American continent centuries ago before being taken over by Mexican forces later on – now it could be your chance to restore their independence!

This region has mostly cattle farms with some mining operations going on as well. You can also find the most remote outpost of civilization in this area, called Cochinay.

The Great Plains: A landlocked region where the sky is as blue as it gets and you can’t see any signs of human activity for miles on end – but beware! While there are plenty of lonesome travelers looking to make a quick buck out here, they’re not always what they seem. Expect armed robbers who want to steal everything that’s yours; if you’re lucky enough, though, some coyotes will be willing to help show you passage through treacherous territory or even provide with transport by train from one town to another so long as their own agenda doesn’t get in your way too much.

This part of North America goes all the way up to the northern border and includes Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota.

What Territory Will I Travel Through in Red Dead Redemption II?

The world of Red Dead Redemption II is expansive and beautiful; with varied landscapes from the snowcapped mountain ranges of Ambarino, down through rolling prairies where thick forests make their home, all the way across arid deserts that eventually give way to the deep blue waters of West Elizabeth on America’s Eastern seaboard. With sights like this around every corner it’s no wonder why Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are always on the lookout for a new place to call home.
