The TIER skill cap is one of the most important things to consider when you’re deciding which tier to play. This is because it will determine what skills you are going to lose access to as your character continues leveling up. It can be difficult and time-consuming to switch back and forth between tiers, so make sure that you choose wisely! In this blog post we will break down each skill category in more detail.
TIER: The “category” that determines what you’re going to lose.
The skill capped tier list (See the full post for more details.)
What skills are in each category? (See the full post for a detailed breakdown!)
Skill caps and how they work!
When should I switch tiers?!
Each of these categories has different skill restrictions on them, which means that depending on your character’s level, you’ll be losing access to some or all of those skills when it comes time to switch tiers. So make sure you know what type of content is available at a certain TIER before deciding which one might be best for you! After reading this, I hope you feel less intimidated by skill capped tiers and more excited to level up your character!
In the skill capped tier list, you’ll see that skills in each category are color coded.
The top three colors are related to what type of content is available: green means story progress and access to a full set of combat skills; yellow indicates an intermediate level which gives players access to some but not all combat skills; red refers to the lowest TIER where no story content will be available whatsoever!
As your character levels up, so do their Tier rights – if it seems like too much work for one skill on the list then maybe it’s time for them to move onto another TIER? Keep in mind that when they make this jump though, they’re going from using only two sets of five skills to four sets of ten.
Only you know what’s best for your character – should they stay where they are, or is it time to move on? It’s all up to you!

Players can unlock skill caps by spending shards that they earn from completing quests and raids in the game.
Unlocking Common Skill Caps costs 20 Shards, Uncommon Skill Caps costs 40 Shards, Rare Skill Caps cost 100 Shards (or a smaller amount of Gems), Epic Skill Caps require 400 Shards or less than 1000 Gems; Legendary Skills Cap will be available at launch on September 19th but requires 1200 Shard or more than 4000 Gems.
Each Tier has five skills slots with two sets of five skills each which must all be different – this is where players are able to customize their character to make it unique! This includes changing up abilities as well as appearances too! Check out our blog post on how to change up your skills here!
Unlocked Skill Caps can be reset at any time. Choose wisely as you won’t be able to use the same skill again and will have to wait for it to drop or buy a new one in order to unlock it once more.
You only need an Uncommon Skill Cap unlocked in order to upgrade into Tier One – if you decide that’s too easy, try unlocking Rare then Epic then Legendary which are all even harder than Tier One but offer better rewards when completed.
