It was at this time that they also became known as “The Fab Five”, a nickname given to them by broadcaster Billy Packer in 1991 when he saw their revolutionary approach of playing with dynamic speed and skill.
To commemorate the twenty-year reunion, ESPN aired an exclusive documentary titled “The Fab Five” which followed these five players since leaving Michigan for various reasons following their graduation in 1993 until now.
